Timeless Valentines Day Gift + Giveaway

As February arrives, you may be shopping for the perfect valentines day gift for your special someone! Surely I’m not the only one who struggles with this year after year. You want your gift to be clever and something he didn’t even know he wanted… anything but another cliche present! Over the last few months, I had been looking for a nice timepiece for my boyfriend of over two years. I did my best to find a watch that was versatile and could be worn with any outfit but I could never find the perfect one. Every watch I found looked just like the others, nothing ever catching my attention. When JORD, a wooden watch making company, coincidently reached out to me with a partnership oppertunity, I was ecstatic to say the least! After browsing their mens collection, I fell in love with the craftsmanship of every piece and the modern style that still is seamlessly classic. In addition, all pieces are tailored to fit and have the most unique exposed gears. Whether you're shopping for a watch lover or someone who isn't a watch wearer, they are sure to love a JORD wooden watch for Valentines Day and will have nothing like it! Details for giveaway contest for a $100 gift card are discussed as well!

Finding My Voice As A Creator

It was almost two and a half years ago that I created my blog, which of course is the one you are currently reading. I was fortunate enough to have the beautiful and talented Cathleen Slagle from Classly Cathleen to guide me through all of the logistics. I honestly don't know what I would have done, or not have done, without her. When I first began blogging it was weird to say the least. And by "it", I mean I was weird. If you ever browse through my first attempts at blogging, you'll be quick to find a far from charismatic writer who had no clue what she was doing or who she was doing it for. The lack of my direction was the epitome of all the problems that were soon to follow. For a while blogging was fun and being able to finally create something was really exciting to me. But then one day, somewhere out of the blue, I had something I like to call, my Blogging Life Crisis. I slipped into a pattern of disappearances and rarely wrote anything with meaning. After months of this constant confusion, I finally found what was missing. Though I am speaking arbitrarily, the way I found what I can only describe as my writer's voice was quite complicated itself and isn’t something that can be described easily. Surprisingly I have found that this situation, though everyones may be different, is fairly common among bloggers but it is hardly discussed. With that said, I want to do my best to portray my personal journey of finding my voice and discovering where my place is as a creator. So let me began…

Goodbye 2016

It's currently 11:16 on New Years Eve and I just can't stop smiling. It has been such a crazy, beautiful,  and scary year. Within the last twelve months my life has changed tremendously. As a matter of fact, I'm willing to bet that this year, the year 2016, has been my most transitional year yet. To recognize all that has happened within this past year, here are the best and the worst things that I was so fortunate to experience.

November Favorites

I honestly can't believe it's already half way through December. November and the beginning of December have been crazy hectic with exams and all the holiday madness. On Friday I saw my dad for the first time in two and a half months, and headed down to Florida to celebrate Christmas with my dad's side of the family. (Who would have thought! — The Last Long Car Ride). A few days before Christmas, I'll head back home to the palmetto state, wish my dad a safe trip back to Italy, and celebrate with the other half of my family. Oh, then I'll be getting my wisdom teeth removed. So, one would say I will be fairly busy! Of course I will be blogging, and filming (for my new youtube channel), so be on the lookout!

New YouTube Channel?!

I am so excited to announce that my first ever YouTube video will be going up tomorrow morning which will launch my brand new channel, Elly's Avenue! The thought of creating a channel has been on my mind for as long as I can remember, and now I finally have enough courage to do it! It was almost a year and a half ago when I started my blog, and it has truly been so much fun. However my desire to create videos has not subsided, and to put it simply, there are some things that cannot be put into words. In tomorrow's video I will be discussing briefly why I am creating a channel, and what kind of content I plan on making! I want clarify that this does not mean I will stop blogging at all! While some videos of course cannot be connected to any written posts, most videos will go along side with them instead. By this I mean, when I do a story such as a trip recap, I will also have a travel diary as well! Through my videos I hope to not only deliver content that is more evolved and interactive, but also expand my audience while making a better connection with you as well!

Since I will obviously be a little fish in a big pond, YouTube won't be an easy task. With that said, whether you read regularly or not, your support in this new chapter would be deeply appreciated! I am so excited to finally be creating this channel, and I hope you stick around to see what I have in store! Be sure to be on the lookout tomorrow morning on the blog, or on my social for a link!

Giving Thanks

Over the last couple of weeks, in spirit of the giving season, I have been compiling a list of things that I am thankful for. In reality, my list could go on forever but to due to the obvious obstacles of why I cannot, I thought I would share a few things that have come to mind lately.

The Best Way To Whiten Your Teeth + Giveaway!

You've probably heard the saying, "a smile is the best accessory" more than just a few times. As cliché as it may sound, I personally believe that to be true. After my braces were removed, the realization that my teeth were no longer as white as they were before hit me hard. In addition, I also found that I had white spots, (which I believe to be known as hyperfluorosis), on my front teeth. Although I had straight teeth, I still didn't feel confident in my smile. I tried everything from whitening toothpaste to strips, but nothing seemed last longer than a few weeks. If I did find a product that was effective, I suffered from tooth sensitivity. Last month, Smile Brilliant, a leading teeth whitening company, reached out to me with a partnership opportunity. They were kind enough to send me their at home teeth whitening system, and helped me throughout the whole process! Today I'm sharing my experience with the product, and company as well as how I use the whitening kit! At the end I will also discuss details on a giveaway that you definitely won't want to miss on!
